BorderlessMarketer is the controller of your personal data. We decide why and how it is collected and used. We are not a platform that processes data for other organisations, so this page is a statement for readers rather than a processing agreement.
If you are a company that wants to discuss data handling for a sponsorship or partnership, email hello@borderlessmarketer.com with Data protection in the subject line.
We send the newsletter because you asked us to, which means we rely on your consent. We keep a record of when and how you subscribed. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing, with no penalty. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before.
We reply to your messages, measure how the newsletter performs and protect our systems on the basis of our legitimate interests, and we balance those interests against your rights. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we ask for it.
To stop receiving the newsletter, the fastest way is the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any issue.
No system is completely secure. If you believe your data has been put at risk, please contact us right away.
We use trusted providers for hosting, email delivery, subscriber management, analytics and security. They handle your data only to provide services to us, under written terms that require confidentiality and appropriate security. We can tell you the types of providers we use if you ask.
Some of our providers process data outside Nigeria, and outside Europe and the UK. When we transfer personal data across borders, we do so in line with the NDPA and, where it applies, the GDPR and UK GDPR. Depending on the case, this relies on an adequacy decision, written contracts with standard data protection clauses, or your consent. Email us if you want more detail about the safeguards for a transfer.
If a personal data breach is likely to put your rights and freedoms at risk, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, and the relevant authority elsewhere where the law requires. If the risk to you is high, we will also tell you without undue delay. Our message will explain what happened, what data was involved, what we are doing about it, and what you can do to protect yourself.
BorderlessMarketer is for adults. You must be at least 18 to subscribe, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Please contact us first at hello@borderlessmarketer.com so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng). If you are in the EEA, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country, and in the UK, to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
